Donna has a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Texas - Killeen. She has extensive Post-Masters education and training. Her specialties include children and military veterans as well as their families. She has been in Hill County for over 30 years. She has been married to her high school sweetheart Gorden for 50 years. Together they share two sons, their wives and two grandchildren.

Her skills and experience come from her work with Texas Youth Commission, Adult & Juvenile Supervision & Corrections, Residential Treatment Facilities, and Private Practice. She is trained in Art Therapy, Eagala, Veteran Suicide Prevention, Military Needs, MVPN & many other specialisties. She was sponsored as a TCLOSE instructor through Hill College and taught local law enforcement continuing education classes. As an adjunct instructor in Hill College's Prevention Services Department she taught Licensed Chemical Dependency Counseling (LCDC) and Criminal Justice courses. She worked as a Family Services Counselor at Ft Hood, specializing in military services, family violence education and prevention. She volunteered with the Heart of Texas Veterans One Stop, Waco, as a rural liasion.  She came to realize that there were huge gaps in veteran related services especially in the rural areas, which led her to the form the nonprofit Veterans Pardners, Inc. (www.VeteransPardners.org) to better meet the needs of community Veterans and their families.

Her skills with youth and adolescents include trauma counseling, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse as well as ADD, ADHD, antisocial disorders, anxiety, depression and emotional & physical disorders. She has worked with preverbal children through level 6 youth who require 24hr supervision.

She led a group of concerned citizens in initiating Hill County Youth Collaboration where she served as Executive Director. The team was responsible for bringing forward Prevention programs that benefit and serve the children and youth throghout Hill County. She initiated the John Ben Sheppard Leadership Forum and lead student leaders throughout the county in completing Leadership activities. 

She worked as a S.T.A.R. Counselor with Hill County Schools and did counseling groups with at-risk youth in the schools. She lead the develpment of the M.A.S.K. (Making Adventure for Single parents & Kids)  Camps for at-risk students and their families. This was a subsidized weekend for the whole family that built stronger family ties and was followedd up with local counseling for the family, if desired.

She served on the Local & Regional Child Protection Services Boards in central Texas and worked extensively with Hill County CPS and counseled with their clients, including both parents and children.

She currently serves as a member of the Lake Whitney Ministerial Alliance as the Social Services Liasion. She is a member of King United Methodst Church.
